Sarah Cooper (USA, 1974) and Nina Gorfer (Austria, 1979) live and work in Göteborg, Sweden. They have backgrounds in art, architecture, graphic design and photography and began their collaboration in 2006. Their photos refer to 18th and 19th century painting and I love looking at their mesmerizing mix of two and three dimension effect. It is like time stands still. They love to travel and to find ancient faces in today’s world, I think it’s a kind of search for a genetic and spiritual heritage, for a ghost and a sparkle of who we once were. They have a show in Reykjavik at Nordens Hus ’till April 21st.
