Art world prankster Maurizio Cattelan and partner Massimiliano Gioni have taken a sliver of New York City and made it their own.
Teamed up with the powers that be at Bard College’s Center for Curatorial Studies, the duo has opened a free time-share, art exhibition space called Family Business. Following in the footsteps of the Wrong Gallery, the Cattelan, Gioni and Ali Subotnick space that stood in Chelsea from 2002 to 2005, Family Business is a non-profit space open to experimentation and off-center exhibition formats.
The second show to boldly fill the space has been put in the hands of self-built internet art critic, Hennessy Youngman and will be called It’s A Small Small World.
