OS GEMEOS - ASSUM PRETO

Operating under the alias Os Gemeos (pronounced "ose zhe'-mee-ose"), identical twin brothers Octavio and Gustavo Pandolfo from Sao Paolo, Brazil have established a name for themselves in the graffiti world by developing a unique and readily identifiable graffiti language born out of both hip hop and the Brazilian pixação movement.

Influenced by the New York hip hop and graffiti scene, the artists progressively put Brazilian cultural elements and influences into their graffiti.

The Assum Preto art book illustrates the canvases and installations created for their first solo show at the Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan, Italy.
A love for drawing, attention to detail and extraordinary mastery of colour are just some of the elements that distinguish the work of these artists.
The book is composed of colour pages with different grammages, a stiff cover in black canvas with four-color embroidery and, inside, a previously unpublished serigraph created by Os Gemeos for the occasion.
It represents a precious object containing the works of this duo, which has been active in São Paulo since the late 1980s.
