ULTIMO QUARTO

“Ultimo Quarto” è una rassegna suddivisa in quattro mostre che inaugureranno in quattro differenti spazi, a Milano, ogni giovedì del mese di Maggio. Diciassette artisti, fotografi e filmaker, eterogenei e appartenenti a diverse generazioni e a diversissimi modus operandi, si confronteranno sui temi che via via prenderanno forma a partire dal primo opening. Se disposti sulla pianta topografica della città i quattro spazi interessati dall’iniziativa formano uno spicchio di luna: il satellite della terra funge come perno ideale per una visione dinamica di una sorta di polittico della vita che ha inizio Giovedì 5 maggio con la mostra ORIGINE, prosegue con MOVIMENTO e CURA, rispettivamente i giorni 12 e 19, e si chiude con TERMINE giovedì 26: nella stessa serata, dalle 22.00 in poi, la chiusura dell’evento si sposta verso la playlist della One Nite Razzputin de L’Atomic Cafè. Gli spazi che hanno sostenuto l’iniziativa sono luoghi non convenzionali e non comunemente deputati alla fruizione dell’arte ma che hanno accettato di cambiare la propria destinazione d’uso per una manciata di ore, mutando di segno e rappresentandosi come punti cardinali in giro per la città, in zone che spesso restano fuori dai circuiti convenzionali del turismo, dell’arte, dello shopping ma che mantengono una temperatura sicuramente più metropolitana. “Ultimo Quarto” è il compendio teorico e visivo di un anno di lavoro su fronti diversi, dalle iniziative organizzate per eventi più strutturati alle serate nel laboratorio FAC di Milano, che anche in questo caso mette in scena incontri e resoconti di un’idea di arte che non gioca con i colori ma con i cavi ad alta tensione, siano essi fotografie, video, installazioni romantiche e struggenti ma sempre e comunque corrisposti da un immenso bagaglio di verità, utopie, indagini che debbono essere rivelate, approvate, strutturate e che possiedano la funzione, oggi come non mai, di far traballare e allo stesso tempo reggere su un filo di coscienza lo spettatore.
“Last Quarter” is a review divided in four exhibition that will be inaugurated in four different places in Milan every Thursday of the month of May. Seventeen artists, photographers and filmmakers, heterogeneous and belonging to different generations and different “modus operandi”, will discuss about themes that will take shape from the first opening. If disposed on the map of the city the four places make a clove of moon: the satellite of the Earth acts as an ideal pivot for a dynamic vision of a sort of polyptych of life which starts on Thursday 5 May with the exhibition ORIGINE (Origin), continue with MOVIMENTO (Movement) and CURA (Care), respectively on 12 and 19 May, and ends with TERMINE (End) on Thursday 26 May: in the same evening, from the 10.00 pm, the closure on the event moves to the playlist of One Nite Razzputin of L’Atomic Cafè. Places that supported the initiative are not conventional and not commonly used for art but accepted to change their intended use for some hour, changing sign and representing themselves as cardinal points around the city, in areas that are often out of the conventional circuit of tourism, art, shopping but keep a temperature certainly more metropolitan. “Last Quarter” is the theoretical and visual compendium of an year of work on different fronts, from the organized initiatives for more structured events to the evenings in the FAC laboratory in Milan, that also in this case show meetings and reports of an idea of art that don’t play with colors but with high voltage cable, like photos, videos, romantic and poignant installations, always paid by an immense baggage of truth, utopias, investigations that must be revealed, approved, structured and that have the function of topple and at the same time hold on a wire the consciousness of the spectator.
